We hope that you enjoyed playing tennis and look forward to welcoming you back as a member for the new tennis year.

Junior club play, the singles and doubles tournaments proved very popular last year and will be repeated this year.

It is good to see a number of our junior members beginning to enter tournaments and getting their LTA ratings up. The best achievement was probably Luke Bayliss reaching the quarterfinals of the Winter U18 County Tournament and going out to last year’s U14 county champion.

We have had 4 teams in the winter, county junior leagues and have entered the same 4 teams in the Summer leagues. This year we have one team in the U14 girls division 1. We have also had large numbers turning out on Friday evenings for the club play.

This year we hope to have far more competitions occurring on Fridays, with a ladder system and some separate Knockout and league events. We also hope to start a club ratings system for the juniors. We would also like to encourage more juniors to come down on Sunday afternoons when there will be some informal competitions.

There will be two tournaments this year, both for singles and doubles. Please let Roy Bayliss know before the event if you wish to play in these. A BBQ will be provided

Singles: Sunday 17^th July at 10am for Year 6 and below and U17 boys and at 1pm for U13 boys and girls.

Doubles: Sunday 25^th September 2pm

The club have 24 tickets just for juniors to go to Wimbledon on Saturday 2^nd July. This proved very popular last year, and tickets are only available to Junior Club members, so make sure you join up to have a chance of going to Wimbledon this year.

These are now run on Saturdays by Pernilla and Jackie. Don’t forget to sign up for your coaching sessions, and as a Wadhurst Club member you get a discount from the normal cost. Please ring Jackie on 07957254049.
